Here's where I talk about music, I suppose

What do I even listen to?

Songs with weird Names | 2025.02.15

So why does "Escape From The City ... for City Escape" have such a weird name? Like why do you need to emphazize that you do it(the city escaping) for the reason of escaping the city? Would you flee a city to NOT escape a city?? And doesn't the level end with Sonic still being in the city? Is it even possible to escape the City in modern day society where even if you aren't in a city Social Media will remind you of cities? Was this song a lie all along? Am I going insane? AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE WEIRD FORMATTING OF THE TITLE...
Well, other than that it's a banger song that I definitely recommend listening to. I can't not sing along with this catchy masterpiece!

Another "interesting" song title is "please buy it for me daddy" by "Rory in early 20s". Not only naming your song that way but also having frequent snippets of this sentence as the only vocals in the song is certainly a way to get attention. And it worked on me! The song deserves it though. It has a really interesting and slightly eerie vibe to it while also being energetic (a combo I really like).

For the final entry on today's ramblings, I have "Bergentrückung" by the iconic Toby Fox! It's only a 22 seconds long interlude that leads to the also iconic "ASGORE". While these songs are wonderful and always get me a bit emotional, the title of Bergentrückuing always confused me. At first, I thought it was just some made up cool sounding word, but after years of not understanding what it meant, I finally googled it. It actually has a meaning! It's a trope from folklore that (according to wikipedia) is called "King asleep in mountain" in english. It's a German word, but even as a German, I didn't know what it meant. In short, it's the belief that a ruler or a hero is raptured into a mountain instead of dying from which they can return to save the country.

If anyone ever reads this: thanks for reading, bye!
